I DIDN’T SEE IT COMING
by Jan Markell, Olive Tree Ministries (edited)
I never thought I would see the day when…
- Prisoners would be let out of jail at the very same time Christians were being kept out of church.
- The one institution pushing back on the despair, the church, would be declared “non-essential” but not marijuana shopsor abortion clinics.
- Churches in many places would be ordered closed and remain closed a year after a new virus was discovered. Government leaders would tell churches what they could and couldn’t do.
- Some cities are telling churches to keep logs of every person who enters their buildingso they can then be tracked and traced.
- In just a matter of weeks, people accepted surveillance in the name of safetyand security. No one questions drones, cameras, and apps watching our every move.
- Businesses that took a lifetime to build and that even spanned three generations, were destroyed in a few weeks—not just in America but around the world.
- Two unknown doctors appeared daily in press briefings presenting their evidence to ruin our great country and it seemed like our leaders never gathered a second opinion. And when some spoke up to differ, they were shut down.
- Israeli media would saythat folks in that country could not buy or sell without a vaccine. Is that coming to a city near me?
- There would be cries from the Godless Left promoting a 28-page document calling for a secular America. They demanded First Amendment rights be ripped from American Christians.
- Vaccines, that once saved lives, would get so corrupted that they now risk lives, yet there is talk that all Americans must get a vaccine for the Coronavirus. Constitutional scholar Alan Dershowitz, says the government absolutely can “plunge a needle into your arm.”
- The world would long for a vaccine to “get life back to normal.” One proposed vaccine promises a mark that goes along with the shot—a mark under the skin. This all sounds more apocalyptic each day.
- There would be “digital passports” and “immune passports”that would reveal our compliance with the Covid vaccine. This is more Orwellian talk and leaps out of the pages of the book of Revelation.
- The world would so willingly give up their rights and bow to almost every government demand as long as they felt the demands would make them safe and well.
- Many corporations are starting to say, “No vaccine, no work.”
- In 2020, Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas came under attack! People who made holiday and family plans were scorned, mocked and scolded. Friends and neighbors turned people in if they were observed entertaining too many people! Canada fined people celebrating some holidays—thousands of dollars.
- There would be a cacophonous cry for a digital currencyalso called cryptocurrency. After all, it is so much safer and germ-free. Are these movers and shakers following a script in the Bible?
- A great “Reset” would be announced by the World Economic Forumthat would allow us to “build back better” and that stated we “would own nothing but be happy.” Did John Lennon’s song “Imagine” foretell this? No heaven and no hell and the world “would be as one.”
So many of these bullet points remind us that the Lord’s return is imminent, and yet most of the pulpits remain silent to this fact! How is this possible? The most significant time in history with the least amount of interest ever!
The stage is clearly being set for the Tribulation, yet most people are clueless because Bible prophecy has been deemed irrelevant and inconvenient. The world is being prepared for a demonic savior, yet the masses are not only clueless, they will run pell-mell into his arms. He will promise to restore order out of this chaos. He is waiting in the wings. His title is Antichrist.
On the Streets
On Fri. October 16, we joined the Homeless Church for the last day of their week-long Beauty of Holiness outreach. We met at 15th St. and San Bruno. This is an area where there are several hundred people camped out in tents and vehicles. We walked around the area inviting people to the event. They gave away water and sleeping bags and had music, testimonies and preaching. Mary and Mike witnessed to David, 50, for 1 ½ hours. He had spent 38 years in juvenile hall and jail. While he had studied the Bible for a long time, he was very confused doctrinally. He thought he could come to God without Jesus.
The next day, we again witnessed at Fisherman’s Wharf. Star of David Ministries ministered and they had excellent music, testimonies and preaching. We also preached at two other locations at the Wharf. Alex witnessed to Charlie and Trisha, in their early 20’s. Charlie asked about homosexuality. He said, “I think Lady Gaga is the reason I am homosexual.”
On Fri. October 23, we witnessed at Hayes and Octavia. This is the second time we had witnessed in this location. Immediately we were confronted by security volunteers who tried to shut us down. They immediately called the police. One of them tried to cut our microphone cord with a knife. Mike took it away, but got cut in the process. Another person stole one of our signs. The police did not arrive until we were ready to leave, and even then they made no effort to shut us down. Mike witnessed to Jim, 58, who was molested as an altar boy and drank for 20 years. His friend, who had also been molested, committed suicide. Jim is an electrician with a wife and 3 children. He said he isn’t bitter.
The next day, we again witnessed at 3 locations at Fisherman’s Wharf for 5 hours. Corey witnessed to Will. He grew up in church, but his wife had an abortion and left him. He became homeless and lost faith. He now thinks he is God.
On Fri. Nov. 6, we witnessed at 24th and Mission. The corner is now filled with vendors selling goods stolen from stores. The police no longer arrest shoplifters. Corey and Alex witnessed to Paul, who claimed to be the person who supplied these vendors. He said he believed the Bible but had been hurt by Christians.
The next day, we were at Fisherman’s Wharf. Andy witnessed to Victor, 28, who is from France. He had never heard the gospel and knew almost nothing about Jesus. Corey ministered to Mike, 58, a Christian who graduated from Teen Challenge but still struggles with alcohol addiction. Corey stayed in touch with Mike and his mother. On Nov. 18 they arranged for him to fly to Connecticut to live in a men’s program.
On Fri. Nov. 13, we witnessed at 16th and Mission. Corey witnessed to four people who were in a city-sponsored van giving away needles and drug paraphernalia to addicts. They thought they were doing good, but Corey warned them that they were helping people continue a destructive lifestyle.
The next day, we again witnessed at Fisherman’s Wharf. About 20 Christians from “Takin’ it to the Streetz” Ministries in Sacramento joined us. They sang and shared some great testimonies of deliverance from drugs and crime.
On Fri. Nov. 20, we witnessed at 16th and Valencia. Mike witnessed to Keith, who grew up in the San Francisco projects. He said 20 people he knew had been killed. He and his son had been shot and his son was paralyzed. Andy witnessed to Chris, 60, from Pacifica. He was very lonely and was concerned about his sick mother. As they spoke, he started crying. He said he wanted to give his life to Christ and prayed with Andy.
The next day, “Tim Moon and the Stars” played at Fisherman’s Wharf. Again we witnessed at three locations. A man approached the team at Pier 39 and said “I hate you and hope you die of COVID.” After Ryan spoke with him, he apologized for his hateful words. Mary witnessed to a Muslim woman who was eating lunch with her three children.
A Final Word
Thank you again for your prayers and financial support for this ministry.
“In the last days, perilous times will come.” The world around us seems to be falling apart. Wickedness is increasing everywhere. I’m reminded of the hymn: “This world is not my home I’m just passing through; my treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue; the angels beckon me from Heaven’s open door; and I can’t feel at home in this world anymore.” Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world.” Come quickly, Lord Jesus!
We are called to be Ambassadors for Christ. We represent the Kingdom of God on this Earth and are calling people to become part of that Kingdom. We also need to “redeem the time because the days are evil.”
Our life on this earth is short. We should do everything we can to reach as many people as we can for Jesus.
Yours in His love,
Larry Rosenbaum
